Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner : Band 7, Older Person Mental Health Inpatient Services, Harplands Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner within Older Persons (Ward 6 and 7) Mental Health Inpatient Services at the Harplands Hospital. The Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner will be at the forefront of delivering excellent quality services to improve the care and service to our older adult inpatient services; with this in mind, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated and articulate Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner to become part of a highly skilled established team. Suitable candidates will have had significant clinical experience working with older adults and be able to demonstrate clinical and strategic leadership experience and qualities.

Main duties of the job

    • Undertake and complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

    • Exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in the delivery of clinical care. Provide advanced clinical skills in relation to assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of the service user group. Promote recovery based care programmes and set high standards for the delivery of care to patients and their families and be responsible for delivering high quality mental health care.

    • Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing the highest quality Mental Health care to Service users, their families and carers. The nature of the Service and philosophy of the team may require the post holder to work flexible hours.

    • Contribute to the medical prescribing provision within the team through supportive dedicated non-medical prescribing.

    • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team developing shared goals, complementing the roles of others to support and maintain team growth and continuous improvement.
