Job summary
North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Alcohol Detox Nurse to join our Community Drug and Alcohol Service ( CDAS ) . The Team is based across several locations, including Birch Terrace, Stoke on Trent. The role is a band 6, 37.5 hours per week and is ideal for those wanting to take the next step in career progression.
The post holder will be working within the CDAS, delivering interventions, assessments and referrals for detoxification with those affected by Substance misuse. Experience and previous knowledge of working with those affected by alcohol is preferred.
We will provide training, support and regular 1:1s to ensure you have the tools you need to succeed in this role.

Main duties of the job
Under the Management of the Service Manager for Stoke-on-Trent Community Drug and Alcohol Team the role will contribute to the provision of high quality substance misuse services which provides detoxification and recovery focused clinical treatment for the population of Stoke-on-Trent. To work within a strengths-based, recovery-orientated, change and outcomes focused approach which promotes service users as responsible co-producers of health, well-being and recovery.

To provide support of the team ensuring processes are in place for the delivery of safe, compassionate care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
Work closely with the Edward Myers Unit, Royal Stoke Hospital, CHAT and wider partnerships across Stoke-on-Trent with a strong a focus on addiction case load management work with patients who have been referred for treatment.
To work collaboratively with other services to provide interventions to support and motivate service users and meet their needs through all stages of their individual recovery journey.
To contribute to the supportive leadership and governance of the clinical team. Supporting the multi-disciplinary team of staff in the delivery of high quality evidence based practice, ensuring that regular supervision and appraisal takes place.
To deliver specific clinical interventions to the client group and liaise with other professionals regarding progress and outcomes.
Contribute to the management and clinical leadership to the nursing and multi-disciplinary team to ensure care is delivered which is person centred and meets standards for Quality and Safety, in partnership with service users and carers.
Role model best practice, undertaking nursing procedures to a standard that ensures safe and effective care, and complies with the NMC Code (2016).
Management of clinical care for the service, ensuring the 6Cs and Trust values underpin the practice and delivery of the team.
To liaise with professionals within the Stoke CDAS Team and other agencies both statutory and non-statutory who link to the substance misuse service delivery.
