We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic consultant with interest in chronic pain. This post is being advertised as a fixed-term 12-month Locum Consultant appointment to replace a substantive consultant who is leaving the department.
The post is fully funded and embedded within existing service capacity, reflecting established departmental need. There is a clear intention to progress to a substantive consultant appointment at the end of the 12-month period, subject to successful appraisal, departmental agreement and organisational process.

This post will attract a job plan of 10 PAs of which 8.5 PAs will be for direct patient care. Further clinical sessions may be undertaken by mutual consent and with suitable recompense. This job plan may be amended in consultation with the post holder as Trust developments evolve and as part of the appraisal process. On-call Duties: 1.0 PA is included each week for on-call duties. This was established from consultant-on-call diaries and will be continuously reviewed.
