Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People and Workforce Manager to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. The role supports the People and Workforce Business Partners with operational workforce support to ensure best practice people management within their areas of responsibility and wider workforce function. You will work collaboratively with business areas and advise on the practical application of People and Workforce policies and procedures, and support with complex employment matters which can include TUPE, performance management, organisational change, disciplinary and grievance.

To support the People and Workforce Department in the delivery of an effective business focussed HR Service:
- To provide professional and customer focused Human Resources advice, coaching and solutions that support the business in the management of workforce issues, change programmes (including TUPE) and complex employee relations case work.
- To support the People and Workforce Business Partners in specialist lead areas, with a particular focus on the delivery of a high quality operational HR service.
- To support in the delivery of operational HR service across designated areas of work in order to enable services to achieve their departmental, key performance indicators (KPI) and Trust objectives.
- To support the People and Workforce Business Partners on the development and implementation of Human Resources Workforce Strategy, Policy and Practice.
- In conjunction with People and Workforce Business Partners set out strategies for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and standards of excellence on all people management issues.
- To support the People and Workforce Business Partner in the wider delivery of workforce and learning priorities across the Trust, including the management of key workforce projects.

Qualification and Professional Training
Essential
- Educated to degree level plus graduate membership of the CIPD (Level 7) qualification or equivalent experience
- Able to use various software programmes and use of internet and e-mail
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- Significant experience in an operational HR role
- Experience of line management
- Experience of implementing employment policy, e.g. recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, sickness management
- Experience of planning, preparation and delivery of training sessions on HR related topics. Presentation/facilitator skills
- Experience of interpreting and applying both the law and complex terms and conditions of employment.
- Experience and involvement in change programmes
- Experience of partnership working
