The Band 6 Clinical Sister will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within the outpatient rheumatology department. Working closely with the Rheumatology Nurse Specialists, the post-holder will lead and manage clinical activities, including administering denosumab injections, reviewing blood test results, and providing care for patients with rheumatologic conditions in an outpatient setting.
The post holder will be committed to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care, continuously seeking to enhance patient outcomes and the quality of the Rheumatology Service.
Main duties of the job
What you will do:
- Collaborate with Rheumatology Nurse Specialists and the Matron to coordinate outpatient services, ensuring patient safety and quality patient care.
- Actively liaise with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs), GPs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and effective clinic operations.
- Implement individualised care plans and perform essential clinical interventions such as venepuncture, cannulation, administering injections (e.g., Denosumab), and ECG recordings.
- Maintain a safe working environment through risk assessments, adherence to infection control protocols, and swift responses to deteriorating patients.
