Main duties of the job
In accordance with patients individual care plan, support patients to meet and maintain their hygiene needs, this may include actions such as:
- Undertake total hygiene needs for patient
- Assist patients to wash and dress
- Assist patients to shower
- Assist patients with / undertake mouth care, c/o teeth / dentures
- Assist with / undertake care of hair
- Assist with / undertake nail care
- Undertake eye care
- Assist patients with / undertake shaving
- Reporting and documentation of all patient care activities, to include improvement, deterioration and changes

- We require enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to work within our busy medical and surgical ward areas and urgent and emergency care which offer a variety of specialisms and opportunities.
- We have part-time and full-time vacancies available however commitment is required to cover all shifts, days/nights/weekends on a rotation basis.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete the Care Certificate and a HCA Development programme at Level 2 / Level 3 depending upon experience as part of their role and must be committed to completion of these within the required time frame
We also offer a full training programme which includes the following:
- Two week HCSW onboarding programme which will include the Care Certificate to enhance knowledge base and clinical skills;
Local induction;
- Competency pack following HCA programme to build evidence of knowledge, skills and competence;
- Undertake a QCF/NVQ / Apprenticeship development programme;
- Support in practice/buddy system
