Job Title: Theatre Porter

Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week

The main duty of the post holder is to provide a portering service to the Theatre Department, support patient transfers to and from the wards and to carry out routine ADHOC duties - supporting with department deliveries, as well as liaising with the nurse in charge of theatre department and operational teams.

Main duties of the job

  • The main duty of the post holder is to provide a portering service to the Theatre Department, support patient transfers to and from the wards and to carry out routine ADHOC duties - supporting with department deliveries.
  • Liaising with the nurse in charge of theatre department and operational teams.
  • To distribute and change medical gas cylinders as requested.
  • To assist at cardiac arrests.
  • To transport records, X-rays, furniture, equipment and materials.
  • To report any suspicious incidents and assist where necessary.
  • When required, assist with low level security requests.
  • Work within theatre department.
