Job Title: Lead Community Midwife

Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week

Perm/Fixed Term: Other - Acting up position

Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 per annum

An 'Acting up' opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 6 midwife to join our senior Midwifery team as the community manager.

This is a temporary post that will only be open to internal applicants.

The post holder will have a sound knowledge of community midwifery. The post holder, in conjunction with the Head of Midwifery, Director of Midwifery, Clinical Leads and Managerial leadership team will ensure a high-quality service for maternity care at George Elliot NHS Trust, within the available resource.

Main duties of the job

To ensure a high standard of midwifery care at all times through the effective management of staff and resources within community team.

To ensure that the Continuity of Carer vision for GEH is implemented

To provide Midwifery leadership and act as a resource to other team members.

To ensure effective communication with the multidisciplinary team/ outside agencies to ensure a seamless care pathway for families is maintained.

To ensure continuous risk assessment processes are in place and reviewed at every contact.

To champion normality, promote and facilitate home birth service within the team.
