Main duties of the job
Senior Legacy Mentors may work in a range of specialisms or environments across the health and social care spectrum using a coaching model. In addition to mentoring newly appointed nurse leaders, they will also link with leadership and organisational development teams to ensure consistency of support across the setting.
The Senior Legacy Mentor will have a responsibility for setting a tone and culture which support the organisation's values and strategic objectives.
The Senior Legacy Mentor will have a responsibility to promote equity of opportunities for all and be required to treat colleagues equitably with dignity and respect.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Registered Health professional with significant experience
- Educated to degree level, plus post graduate diploma or equivalent in a specific field, experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
- Current experience in a nursing leadership role with practical experience of full range of managerial responsibilities including delivery of high quality professional standards, excellence in staff engagement, good governance frameworks and line management
- Further training or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes including quality improvement methodology
- Experience in nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team providing effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care
- Experience in communications and stakeholder management
- Coaching experience and/or Mental Health first aid training
- Previous experience in similar role in public sector
- A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
