Job summary

Job Title -Clinical sister

Hours per week-37.5 (Part time considered)

Perm/Fixed Term-Secondment: 12 months

Salary-£35,392 - £42,618 per annum

Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision.

Undertake and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the physical social and spiritual needs of the patients where appropriate.

Creates and utilizes opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.

Influence and monitor the standards of direct patient care delivery in accordance with best practice and operational protocols and guidelines.

Leads a nursing team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift.

Promote good working relationships within the nursing teams providing appropriate advice and support.

Facilitate the development of standards of care and assist with the implementation of appropriate monitoring techniques.

Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff below a band 6.

Main duties of the job

To support the Emergency Department in all aspects of emergency care. To manage and support a team of nurses, ensuring the development and maintenance of high standards of nursing care & take responsibility for the day to day management of the clinical area. Take lead for specific areas of professional practice as delegated by the Senior Sister & deputise for the Senior Sister in their absence.
