The Clinical Skills & Simulation Tutor is responsible for the development, evaluation and running of the multi-disciplinary Clinical Skills Centre as a training resource. To act as a lead specialist for clinical skills and simulation training and teaching within the Trust. To undertake the specialist teaching of clinical skills and simulation to healthcare professionals. To plan, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate the clinical skills and simulation training programmes. To initiate research and design, implement and monitor robust audit mechanisms for clinical skills and simulation training, training needs analysis, effectiveness of clinical practice and outcome of training.
To manage the day-to-day supervision of the Clinical Skills & Simulation Facilitators.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced registrant with knowledge of clinical skills and simulation, to co-ordinate all matters relating to clinical skills and simulation education on behalf of the Clinical Simulation & Immersive Technologies Lead. You will be involved in the development of multi-disciplinary clinical skills and simulation educational resources which incorporates multimedia technology and relevant simulation based learning, providing a safe and effective learning environment for learners on placement & staff. You will need to ensure the Trust meets the necessary compliance for clinical skills training, set against the Trusts Essential Skills Training Framework, and ensuring the quality frameworks & educational contracts are met.

- oDemonstrates the ability to teach and train in the clinical area and classroom settings.
- oExperience of supervising and assessing students and health care staff
- oExperience of working in a variety of clinical practice settings as a registrant.
- oProficiency in a wide range of clinical skills
- oProven leadership skills including team building and change management.
- oDemonstrates the ability to effectively manage resources.
- oIT literate with experience of word processing, database, spreadsheets, and email.
- oDemonstrates experience of report writing, presentation skills and ability to write business cases.
- Previous experience and knowledge of policy and standard setting
- oPrevious experience of coordinating and implementing research and audit, disseminating findings.
- oDemonstrates experience of planning, teaching, assessing, and evaluating staff and learners on resuscitation and clinical skills training sessions and follow up accordingly.
- oExperience with recruitment of staff, induction, and appraisals.
- oProfessional knowledge acquired through master's degree (or working towards) or equivalent experience
- oRGN Level 1 or Midwife or equivalent professional qualification e.g., HCPC registrant
- oEvidence of highly developed clinical skills and simulation knowledge.
- oRecognised teaching or training qualification
- oPrepared to work towards PgCert Ed HE or equivalent
