Job Title - Domestic Supervisor

Hours per week- 37.5 hours a week (5 over 7 days -will include weekends)

3 shift patterns- 07.00am - 15.00pm - 10am-6pm and 14.00pm- 22.00pm

Main duties of the job

To co-ordinate and supervise domestic and ward hostess services within the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.

To ensure that the National Standards for Cleanliness are reached and maintained and to support the delivery of the patient meal time experience.

You will be a key member of the Hotel Services team who are responsible for supporting and monitoring cleaning services and patient feeding at ward level within the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.

To ensure compliance with the national standards for cleanliness within a NHS setting.

To monitor work rosters and to carry out all associated administrative tasks including being responsible for a team.

To monitor annual leave requests.

Maintain staff rosters, making temporary adjustments to provide an efficient operational service

To monitor and support with staff absence

Process annual leave requests ensuring minimum staffing levels aremaintained

Monitor cleaning standards, ensuring remedial action isimplemented as required

Ensure clear communication streams with Hotel Services Management.

Ensure open communication with ward managers regarding issues which may affect service levels

Provide emergency cover in the absence of Hotel Services staff

  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues.
  • Numerical skills including the ability to calculate hours worked and resolve pay queries
