Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated individual with a current health profession registration to join the George Eliot Vaccination team as a Clinical Sister or Charge Nurse. The role will ensure provision of a comprehensive, efficient and effective service across the organization for staff and patients.
The role is suitable for an established NMC registrant who can administer medicines via a Patient Group Directive.
You should have a recent acute care background and be up to date with the education and development needs of immunisation and vaccination. A desire to deliver a quality client centered service will see the successful candidate innovate and cultivate new ways of working and acceptance of an expanding vaccination program.
Clinical skills of venepuncture will be an advantage.

Purpose
As a Clinical Supervisor for Vaccination clinic, the post holder will work as part of dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the delivery of COVID-19 and Occupational Health (OH) vaccines
This role is part of the development of the Well Being Hub service for George Eliot Hospital Trust.
To deliver the national vaccination programme for Covid 19 and any other outbreaks for staff and public
To provide occupational health (OH) support for trust employees.
Main duties and Responsibilities
Clinical
- Undertakes and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the patient as appropriate
- Follows Patient group Directions (PGD) Patient Specific Directions, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to include safe storage, administration and disposal of the vaccine
- Deliver a high standard of care based on best practice to maintain patient safety and provide a good patient experience
- To undertake clinical shifts in vaccination clinic and assist with the overall coordination of the department activity and day to day delivery of the vaccinations, ensuring clinic rooms and equipment within own area are prepared and sufficient stock of clinic supplies are available
- Creates and utilizes opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their car
- Working within the NMC Guidelines and Trust Policies recognising ones own abilities and limitation
- To facilitate and build team working between nurses and multi-disciplinary team to effect high standards of car
- Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.
