A position has arisen for a dynamic individual to lead the Practice Education & Development Team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. The Practice Education & Development Lead is a proactive nursing leader, teacher and role model, who leads on the development of excellence in practice education and policy for staff and learners at GEH.

The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring non medical staff and learners receive high quality support to excel at work or whilst on clinical placement. The Practice Education & Development Lead is responsible for ensuring the NMC standards framework for nursing and midwifery education are met - ensuring theory and practice learning and assessment are facilitated effectively and objectively by appropriately qualified and experienced professionals with necessary expertise for their educational and assessor roles.

Main duties of the job

The Practice Education and Development Lead will support the Head of Practice Education to lead the Trusts Practice Education and Development approach, providing oversight and promoting a positive and supportive learning, education, and workforce development culture.

This role will lead on building and embedding a corporate Nurse, Midwifery and AHP Learning, education and workforce development framework. Delivering an inclusive portfolio of non-medical learning, education and development that supports the Trusts future direction.

Working with key decision makers in the Trust and providing support to the Head of Practice Education in the development and implementation of the People Plan, NHS Long term workforce plan and other service development/ improvement plans in line with Trust vision and values. The Practice Education and Development Lead will have leadership responsibility for the Practice Education service, function and staffing and will oversee the day-to-day operations ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service, including, but not exclusive to.
