Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone with experience within Clinical Skills, Simulation and Clinical Technology Enhanced Learning who is ready for the next step on their leadership journey. The Clinical Simulation and Immersive Technologies Lead is responsible for the operational management and leadership of all clinical skills, clinical simulation, and clinical technology enhanced learning education across the Trust.

- Providing professional advice and consultancy to the Trust, HEIs, NHSE, regional and national stakeholder groups on all aspects of clinical skills, simulation and clinical technology enhanced learning delivery including policy, pedagogy, learning frameworks and models, assessment tools, feedback and debrief delivery, and equipment.
- Leading research and audit projects in collaboration with Trust education colleagues, NHSE and HEIs, to ensure an evidence based innovative approach is delivered, and translating this into policy, guidance, and education delivery.
- Leading service delivery in relation to NHSE learner education contracts and Trust employee education requirements in relation to professional and Trust standards.
- Leading service delivery and evaluation in relation to all clinical skills, simulation, and clinical technology enhanced learning programmes for all MDT learners.
- Ensuring NHSE and education contract quality indicators and KPIs are achieved for all education contract related activity.
- Line managing the clinical skills and simulation tutors and the clinical technology enhanced learning manager to ensure collaborative and innovative delivery of clinical education programmes at a high standard.
- Utilising inclusive leadership skills to develop direct reports to ensure they can lead, manage, and coach their teams effectively and to robustly succession plan.
- Producing annual Board reports demonstrating achievements, activity, collaboration, and innovation, in addition to providing evidence for quality assurance visits from NHSE and HEIs.
- Managing the budgets for clinical skills, simulation, and clinical technology enhanced learning on behalf of the Head of Medical Education to ensure transparent accountability and best use to meet educational and contract requirements.
- Work in partnership with education and clinical leads and their teams within education and clinical practice to develop new initiatives, generate tariff income, and seek new opportunities.
