Main duties of the job

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medicine Directorate at George Eliot Hospital as an Operations Manager, supporting the General Manager with the operational management of services.

As the Operations Manager you will be responsible and accountable for the operational management and performance of a number of specialties; providing strong visible leadership in partnership with the Heads of Service, Clinical Leads and Directorate Management Team, driving through ambitious targets to continually improve operational and financial performance.

You will possess exceptional leadership and communication skills and will be required to provide strong operational management on a daily basis. Experience in managing services within an acute setting, staff and budgets and implementing change is essential and having the confidence to work at a senior level.

This post is integral to the operational running of the Medicine Directorate and will play a major part in supporting the delivery of all access targets.

The successful candidate will use their own leadership and operational experience to support the provision of high quality patient care and develop strong relationships with partners across the organisation.
