Main duties of the job
As part of The Trusts development of Frailty services our Frailty therapy team is seeking an experienced Clinician to lead our therapy service as part of a dedicated frailty unit and to support a move to an integrated approach to hospital discharge in line with latest national initiatives. The knowledge and skills of Occupational Therapists are key in supporting patients living with frailty and complex needs, and in assisting them in recovering from acute illness and enabling them to return home.
As the Band 7 Frailty Occupational Therapist, you will provide advanced clinical skills in the assessment and management of patients living with Frailty with complex health and social needs, case managing patients across the frailty floor at George Eliot Hospital.
You will take responsibility as Lead Frailty Therapist in the recruitment and development of Frailty Therapy services, this will include managing a caseload, the recruitment, development and support of other team members, supporting in the development of workstreams and frailty pathways as well as providing specialist advice to the MDT for patients not directly under your care.

- Extensive postgraduate experience working within the relevant clinical field with a minimum 5 years' experience
- Excellent advanced knowledge of the management of relevant patient group
- Extensive experience of working closely with MDT
- Experience of clinical education of less experienced staff (including students)
- Evidence of participation in audit/research
Desirable
- Experience working within the NHS
Qualification & Training

- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Post graduate level to Master's level or equivalent in relevant specialism experience
- HCPC registration
