Main duties of the job
This is a new post for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry for Warwickshire. The successful candidate will have established leadership and team-working qualities and will provide service, mentoring and clinical leadership in paediatric dentistry and be responsible for providing specialist dental advice and treatment for children with a disability and/or complex medical conditions/additional needs, under local anaesthesia, conscious sedation and general anaesthesia, in both hospital and community settings within Warwickshire. They will also be responsible for developing and contributing to continuing education, audit and research, whilst playing a key role in supporting clinical governance and quality assurance programmes, supporting innovation and quality improvement in the Special Care Dental Service.

- Experience in the multidisciplinary management of Paediatric patients
- Experience in Community Dental Service settings
- Clinical leadership experience in paediatric dentistry
- Ability to critically appraise scientific literature
Desirable
- Experience of management in a Paediatric Dentistry service
- Audit and service evaluation relevant to Paediatric Dentistry
- Research relevant to Paediatric Dentistry
- Publications in peer reviewed journals

- Full registration with the UK General Dental Council and on the GDC Specialist List in Paediatric Dentistry
- Possession of a CCST in Paediatric Dentistry (or within 6 months of completion) or equivalent
- Membership in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent Possession of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent

- Other Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric dentistry, teaching or conscious sedation(e.g. MSc, Diploma, Doctorate}
