Main duties of the job
To lead and provide direction for information analysis within Trust's clinical directorates. This is abusiness focused role working closely with Managers and Clinicians within the directorates toensure they have the information they need to understand, manage and develop their services.To take an active role in and promote the use of Information to managers and clinicians;interpreting the information available within the Trust's Business Intelligence (BI) systems; usingpredictive techniques to highlight variation and forecast trends; and working with managers andclinicians to provide information to support improving efficiency of services and to support thedeveloping agenda around transformation within the trust.

Job responsibilities
The Data Architecture Manager will work to agreed objectives and act as the lead specialist for commissioning data sets and information flow development, guided by the national policy with the freedom to interpret and implement these for the organization.
- Provide technical authority, leadership, training support and management of the development of new information databases, information processing systems, and web-based information deployment working closely with other Information and ICT Services staff in George Elliot Hospital NHS Trust.
- To liaise and work jointly with divisional managers to ensure that the data and information flow from operational/departmental systems into the Information department databases and data warehouse is seamless. Leading on the implementation of effective and efficient reporting solutions for services.
- Lead discussions and specification of new information processing and reporting.
- To design, develop, and execute large-scale data warehousing solutions employing various types of data streams. To serve as the lead developer for the team creating sophisticated data processing solutions.
- To assist the team in future data warehouse system planning, such as by ensuring that system purchases, migrations, and upgrades are not considered before proper considerations have been made.
- Supporting and creating plans for business continuity and resilience for database upgrades.
- To create detailed documentation of every advancement.
- To read and comprehend dense technical documentation in order to further develop it into data specifications for programmers.
- To assess novel goods and technology and take into account their use as remedies within the development work programme.
- Assist the team by using a business analysis approach to translate business requirements into system specs and design.
- To collaborate with the other teams in the CSU in a matrix management system to make sure that technologies are integrated, and that data is supplied in a timely and useful way.

- To offer end customers assistance for well-known goods as well as any users that need technical guidance and training.

- Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent i.e. Degree level qualification plus extensive development experience gained in either the NHS or large commercial organization.
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification in an ICT-related discipline, or equivalent experience
- PMI or Prince 2 qualified
- Microsoft certification in SQL Server, Visual Basic, ASP / Web design
Desirable
- Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development
