Main duties of the job
To assist the Equipment loan store technician in carrying out regular deliveries and collections of loan store equipment to wards and departments including external Trust properties within the Warwickshire area. Certain activities will require handling and lifting of medical and other electrical equipment on a add hock basis.
To assist the Equipment loan store Technician in maintaining accurate computerised database records of all medical equipment issued from and returned to the George Eliot Hospital equipment loan store.
To assist in cleaning and safe storage of loan store equipment, ensuring items are complete and available for re-issue. It is expected that the Trust's procedures on equipment decontamination be followed at all times for both personal and patient safety.
To assist EBME technical Staff under supervision in the undertaking of Pre Planned Maintenance tasks including carrying out electrical safety tests and visual inspections of medical devices following the latest guidelines. Principally on the Warwick Hospital site but also as requested to undertake duties under supervision at external Client's premises/ organisations across the Warwickshire district.
To perform all necessary work under supervision within the department and to be flexible when demands upon the department requires an immediate response.
To undertake any other tasks as required by the Head of EBME in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.

Purpose
To assist EBME technical staff in the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of Electrical / Electronic medical equipment including where necessary carrying out under supervision electrical safety tests in accordance with specified standards.
