Job Title-SDEC Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to suppport the unit manager to lead the nursing team in our busy Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU). We are looking for band 6 RN who is committed, motivated, and ready for a new challenge within a busy yet supportive environment. Experience within an urgent care environment would be essential.
The successful applicant must have at least 2 years' experience at a Band 5. As the lead you will have a strong commitment to excellence in patient care and a high level of communication skills, as you act as the interface between patients and other healthcare professionals.
Desirable knowledge and skill sets are for candidates who possess Advanced health assessment skills and Non-Medical Prescribing qualification .
You will have the ability to motivate and develop your teams ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to care for their patients.
Main duties of the job
- Take responsibility for the clinical leadership and direction of the nursing team
- Undertakes and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the patient as appropriate
- Deliver a high standard of nursing care based on best practice to maintain patient safety and provide a good patient experience.
- Creates and utilizes opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
- To undertake clinical shifts on ward area.
- Working within the NMC Guidelines and Trust Policies recognising one's own abilities and limitations.
- To facilitate and build team working between nurses and multi-disciplinary team to effect high standards of care.
- To understand mortality data and use knowledge of how nursing can contribute to increased mortality to determine ward standards. Use audit tools to monitor compliance with those standards
- Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.
Managerial
- To support the Lead Nurse to initiate and prioritise modernisation developments within the Service as part of the business/strategic planning process
- Through effective negotiation and political awareness create an environment for partnership working and dissemination of information across multi-disciplinary teams
- Deputise for Unit manager in their absence as requested

To assist the Lead Nurse to review staffing requirements using a proactive approach to retention and recruitment of staff
- To support the Lead Nurse to initiate and prioritise modernisation developments within the Service as part of the business/strategic planning process
- Ensuring staffing levels within the area are adequate to provide safe and effective care delivery, maximising the resources that are available by competent duty rostering
- Through effective negotiation and political awareness create an environment for partnership working and dissemination of information across multi-disciplinary teams

- Participate in the on-site Senior Nurse Rota supporting the wider Trust
- Support Lead Nurse in the recruitment and selection of new staff
