Job responsibilities
A exciting opportunity for a Band 5 nurse has arisen at the George Eliot Hospital. The successful candidate will rotate between the Childrens Assessment Unit and Special Care Baby Unit, with support and training provided to aid your professional development.
This role is suitable for both newly qualified nurses, and experienced nurses wishing to broaden their experience. We welcome informal discussions and applications from both paediatric and adult nurses.
We provide a childrens assessment and observation unit within the footprint of the Emergency Department. Paediatric day surgery and a range of outpatient clinics allow our staff to develop great all round knowledge and experience.
The Special Care Baby Unit can accommodate 12 babies providing neonatal care to babies born prematurely or sick. We have facilities to provide stabilisation and short-term intensive and high dependency care and work as part of the West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. We support neonatal nurses to gain a post-registration qualification in neonatal critical care, with a clinical placement in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
We are a strong and inclusive team, and encourage staff to play a role in the improvement of our service to benefit our patients and staff with our multidisciplinary shared-decision making council.
