Children's Community Nurse (Band 6 - Permanent-Full & part-time posts available)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and enthusiastic Registered Children's Nurses to join our friendly and supportive Children's Community Nursing Service on a permanent, full or part-time basis, as soon as possible.

We are looking for nurses who are passionate about caring for children, who are able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team, have excellent verbal, written, communication and record keeping skills and who can be flexible in order to respond to the changing demands of the caseload and can meet the travel requirements of the post, delivering excellent care to our diverse caseload.

If you enjoy variety and a challenge, this position offers you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the care of babies, children and young people aged 0-19yrs who have acute, chronic and complex/life threatening, life-limiting conditions and their associated care needs. The opportunity of providing holistic child and family centred nursing care in partnership with parents and carers for our children and young people-in their own homes and in other community settings across the beautiful county of Herefordshire and its borders.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for facilitating the delivery of high quality care for the children and young people who are on the Children's Community Nursing caseload, including assessing their needs, care planning, teaching, direct careprovision and of the evaluation of nursing care interventions throughout their very individualised and varied health care journeys.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and inspiring individual who is passionate about caring for CYP, who is able to work on their own initiative and as part of our supportive team. Someone who has the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with CYP, their families, carers, other professionals and colleagues and who isn't afraid to challenge decision making or raise concerns. You must have excellent record keeping skills and be committed to ensuring a high standard of individualized care is delivered to our diverse caseload. You must be able to work flexibly to meet the changing demands of the caseload and must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle in order to meet the travel requirements of the post.

Essential

  • Registered first level nurse who holds an effective registration with the NMC
  • Hold RSCN/Child Branch Degree / Diploma

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification i.e. Community Practice teaching certificate/ENB 998 or equal
  • Community Qualification E.g. BSc in Community Healthcare (Sp Q) CCN, HV, School Nurse, District Nursing, Certificate

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Demonstrate good clinical skills
