Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Research Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team based at Hereford County Hospital.

The successful candidate will coordinate and manage both academic and commercial clinical trials, working collaboratively with the clinical research team and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, accurate data collection, high quality care and strict adherence to study protocols.

We are very keen to meet interested applicants and would be happy to facilitate informal visits or answer any enquires.

Work pattern: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, although some flexibility may be required.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for the coordination and management of a diverse portfolio of clinical trials, supporting participants throughout the research pathway in accordance with study protocols and relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities will include patient screening and recruitment, accurate data collection and the support and monitoring of participants. The post holder will ensure that trials are set-up and managed in line with regulatory, sponsor and local research requirements.

The role involves liaising with all relevant members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that all research is undertaken with patient safety and welfare as a key priority, and that all trials are delivered efficiently, with adherence to agreed timelines and targets.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working with a broad range of individuals, including patients and researchers.

The post holder will work with a high level of autonomy, have a sound understanding of clinical trial activity and Good Clinical Practice, and be able to complete trial documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Other responsibilities include raising the profile of clinical research across the Trust by engaging in promotional events relating to clinical research with attendance at local, regional and national meetings.
