Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Advanced Practice Neurological Physiotherapist to join our team at Wye Valley NHS Trust on a 12-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity to work at Band 7 level across outpatient clinics and in patients' homes, providing highly specialist neurological physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation.
You will work with adults with a wide range of complex neurological conditions, using advanced clinical reasoning to deliver person-centred care and supporting patients to maximise their independence. The role combines direct patient care with service development, education and clinical leadership, making it an ideal opportunity for a dynamic and compassionate practitioner.
Main duties of the job

Provide advanced neurological physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management for adults in outpatient clinics and through home visits.

Exercise professional autonomy in managing a complex caseload, applying advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.

Contribute to specialist neuro clinics, offering expert input into diagnosis, prognosis and treatment planning.

Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, families and carers to ensure integrated care.

Provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentorship to junior staff, support workers and students.

Support audit, research and service development initiatives to maintain and enhance high standards of patient care.

- Professional Qualification to degree level or equivalent in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registered
- Evidence of relevant post graduate Masters/level 7 studies or qualifications e.g bobath course
Desirable
- Independent and Supplementary Prescribing (V300) /ability to work within PGD's and/or formal specialist post graduate training in injection therapy
- Leadership/Management qualification

- Broad, developed and advanced knowledge of relevant patient conditions and therapy interventions
- Extended and advanced clinical skills and knowledge base in relevant area
- Demonstration of knowledge of core and highly specialist Therapy skills
