Staff Nurse - Frome

Job summary

Frome ward is a 35 bedded General Surgical ward. The ward will receive all of the emergency General Surgical from A&E and clinics and also repatriated patients. On Frome ward you will be caring for acutely unwell patients, some of whom will be pre & post ITU. You will be working very closely with the Critical Care Outreach team, Uro-Oncology & Colo-Rectal CNS Teams as well as the Therapy teams to instigate timely discharges and effective patient flow on the ward.

Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with consultants, hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients.

Candidates MUST have a PIN with the NMC or awaiting registration.

Main duties of the job

To facilitate multidisciplinary patient centred care in the role of named nurse/team leader.

Toassess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. On a regular basis, accept theresponsibility for the management/leadership of the ward/department in the absence of thesenior nurse.

To participate in the supervision and teaching of staff and students.
