  • Developing, monitoring, and maintaining a database of those on Hepatocellular Carcinoma surveillance
  • Support the patient through the journey from identification and referral to conclusion of their intervention, thus eliminating barriers to care.

  • To evaluate surveillance data, to ensure the hepatology service meets national standards of care and provide regular data submissions to NHS England and the West Midlands Cancer Alliance.
  • Ensure the trust meets national minimum standards of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) surveillance as outlined in the NHS England Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) surveillance: Working on your own initiative with minimum direct supervision for the tracking of all patients diagnosed with liver cancer or suspected of having liver cancer, in order to ensure a timely diagnostic and treatment process and accurate entry of clinical data.
