Job summary

We have a Bank zero hour agreement post for a Soft Services Assistant. These hours are flexible, part time posts that are needed to cover from 0700 - 2100 and over a 7 day cover on all sites. Sites include Ross on Wye, Hereford Clinics, Leominster and Bromyard and we would match you to the site that you would prefer to work.

The Soft Services Assistant posts are an absolute essential role for our Trust. They provide Clean Environments and a Nutritious Catering Service within one of our three community hospitals and a Clean Environment for our clinics across Herefordshire. These roles are important and valued roles within the Estates Teams. The roles will be accountable to Site Supervisors based on site and are key front line workers who are expected to liaise with ward staff, patients, visitors and contractors.

As part of the Soft Services Team, the Assistant posts are dual posts responsible for:

  1. Maintaining the levels of cleanliness of all environments to the standards set within the National Standards of Cleanliness (2021).
  2. To maintain a wide range of general catering duties ensuring a high quality service in line with Food Hygiene regulations at all time.

We will work with you to ensure relevant training and supervision is available and you will be expected to problem solve day to day issues that may arise.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for individuals who can deliver and achieve a high standard of cleaning in both clinical and non clinical settings, ensuring that COSH requirements are adhered to.

In a catering role you will prepare all types of hot and cold foods including special and therapeutic diets. Other duties include associated cleaning and completion of compliance paperwork.
