Wye Valley NHS Trust

The closing date is 13 October 2024

Job summary

Fantastic opportunity in the beautiful County of Herefordshire.

Are you looking for a new challenge? The paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team at Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed Speech and Language Therapist. You will join a small, friendly and highly committed team of therapists and therapy assistants delivering support to children across rural Herefordshire. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 member of staff to support the Community & mainstream school team but there is also an opportunity to support children with more complex communication presentations including those with a diagnosis of Autism. Ideally, the post holder will want full time work but part time contracts will be considered. There is an opportunity for some flexible working within this role that can be discussed at interview.

The post holder will be supporting their own relatively large and varied caseload. Experience in supporting children/young people with a wide range of speech, language & communication difficulties is ideal. Support and supervision will be available.

If you are an enthusiastic and evidence driven individual then please get in touch. Due to the nature of the post you must be a car driver.

Main duties of the job

Provide assessment and therapy for pre-school and school age children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. Write concise notes, reports and programmes for children in order for family and education staff to support ongoing needs.

Support initiatives within the SALT service to maintain timely waiting lists and waits for therapy intervention.

Engage in and be pro-active in CPD activities in order to continually provide evidence based practice and intervention.
