Band 3 Assistant Medical Secretary Respiratory Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the Respiratory department full- time as an Assistant Medical Secretary for 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent contract.

This is a busy role supporting the Consultants and Nursing team within the Respiratory department. We are looking for an individual who will be highly motivated. In return, this post will offer excellent development opportunities.

The successful candidate will require excellent organisational and communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work self-sufficiently, using their own initiative and be willing to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the service. The individual must also have the ability to work well under pressure and have the desire to provide a first class service for patients and the clinical teams.

Previous experience of working within a Healthcare environment is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this job is to provide support to the Medical Secretaries, Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists in the Medical Directorate. The main aspect of the role will be typing clinical correspondence, reports, etc using the digital system, general administrative duties and to provide cover for the Medical Secretary when required within the Respiratory Department, but there may need to be flexibility in working through Division as service needs require.
