Job summary

The Victoria Eye Unit is looking for an enthusiastic Outpatient Admin Assistant to join our team in a busy Ophthalmology Department.

This is a constantly expanding speciality with many areas to develop knowledge and skills and expand your skills within an outpatient administrative environment.

Ophthalmology knowledge is desirable, although training for the right candidate will be provided.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to support the Ophthalmology Departmental on a daily basis to ensure all administrative processes are effective and processed timely.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative using knowledge, skills and experience to manage the administrative functions that are generated from various clinics, this involves generating patients appointment with oversight from the responsible clinician.

Knowledge of hospital IT systems to support role is essential, with training provision for the right candidate.

The role will support the clinical teams, unit clerks and house keeper to ensure a seamless service.

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent
