Job summary
- The post-holder will act as a senior data and information specialist, providing reports, insight and recommendations through complex analysis of multiple data sets, providing support for both Divisional senior management teams and operational managers through the provision of comprehensive data, reporting and analysis.
- The Senior Information Analyst will support the strategic direction of the Trust by providing robust information analysis. They will be able to offer support and professional advice to senior management in relation to key national, regional and local performance indicators and NHS statistical work areas, operational performance, demand and capacity management as well as leading on information provision and reporting for service and quality improvement programmes.
- The role supports the development of services, including contributing to business cases, highlighting risks and exploiting opportunities through complex analysis and providing insight relating to service quality and performance to help maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders.
- This role supports the Information Manager (Divisional) and is part of a professional, high quality and effective team. The role is fundamental in ensuring the Referral to Treatment (RTT) and other information requirements of the Trust are met by delivering consistent services, products, functions and information through the corporate information team.
Main duties of the job
Carry out complex analysis to support Trust staff at all levels, offering guidance and interpretation to ensure the analysis is both appropriate and useful. Producing comparisons, trends, summary and narrative and investigating any areas requiring further investigation, ensuring analysis methodology is documented and a systematic approach is taken.
- Produce information in support of the business of the Trust in an accurate and timely manner.
- To take a lead role in the provision of analysis to support external agencies.
- Take a proactive role in the dissemination of waiting list guidance, offering expertise and support to managers as required.
- To be responsible for the production of appropriate forecasting using modelling techniques involving waiting lists and activity. Derive detailed monthly profiles and plans updating and refining analytical models as required.
- To take an active role in demand & capacity tools / reports to fulfil requests or identified needs of Trust Managers, clinicians and operational staff and the annual business planning process.
- Provide advice and specialist knowledge to define Trust wide and external information requirements and establishing appropriate reporting mechanisms.
