Pharmacy and Medicines Data Analyst

Job summary

To provide specialist information performance support to the Pharmacy Department and work as part of the Information Team. The post holder will be a lead information specialist in designated functions/project areas and will be required to provide specialist advice and support in these areas. The post holder will be required to implement policies and propose changes to practices and procedures for designated functions/project areas.

This role will play a key part in the production of routine monitoring reports, ensuring all data queries relayed back from the Pharmacy Department and other areas are completed within agreed timescales to minimise the risk of inaccurate reporting or lost income to the Trust.

Interviews are to take place on Friday the 3rd of November 2023.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the accurate production, management and submission of weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reports that are required as part of our statutory monitoring requirements to the mandated timescales
  • Development and maintenance of a portfolio of information systems to ensure the delivery of performance monitoring and to report overall performance for Pharmacy for corporate reporting and contracting purposes
  • Lead the validation process for all Pharmacy data presented to the Trust to ensure that all activity is accounted and charged appropriately
  • In partnership with Finance and Information colleagues, run exception reports to highlight performance issues to the Lead Pharmacist and/or Performance Information Analyst
  • Support the Lead Pharmacist and wider Pharmacy Team to investigate identified exceptions and divergence from targets and trends using national and local sources of information
  • Assist in the development of robust service improvement solutions with managers and clinicians, through the analysis of data and/or other information sources.

  • Information Management/IT related degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Good level of basic education, including English & Maths GCSE or equivalent

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Performance reporting, data analysis and interpretation, and report generation
  • Intermediate/advanced use of Access and Excel
  • Intermediate/advanced database query skills using MS Access functions and/or SQL
  • Knowledge of data protection and data quality issues
