Job summary

Dental Nurse Coordinator Band 4 - Ross on Wye

Full Time hours preferred however part time hours will be considered, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm with one day a week 8.30pm finish with a rostered morning off.

We are currently looking for an experienced dental nurse coordinator to provide excellent support to the dental team and smooth running of the Dental Access Centres.

You will be required to communicate effectively with clinical teams, possess the knowledge and training in a full range of dental procedures to support the delivery of clinical dentistry.

As the coordinator you will play an active part in the clinical supervision and support of less experienced staff and trainees ensuring their development needs and patient needs are met. Also providing support in relation to quality to ensure the systems are in place and to monitor and improve services.

Additional training and opportunity to gain qualifications will be offered as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide chairside support to a range of clinicians encompassing specialist work that their skills and qualifications allow including domiciliary care, radiography, sedation and general anaesthetics. They will undertake a range of additional duties to support the efficiency, quality and safety of patient experience and delivery of the service. They will work closely with the Head of Service, Dental Team Manager, specialist dental nurses, coordinators and broader dental team,

The post holder will be responsible for the decontamination and safe management of dental instruments, laboratory items, work surfaces and equipment in accordance with HTM 01-05, Trust policies and Professional Guidance.

Advise and support other members of the dental team in triage and prioritisation of patients and treatments to ensure they receive the most appropriate care in a timely way.

Recognise the workload of others, provide support and show flexibility so that the clinical and patient experience is a positive one.

To participate in stock control including identification and ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels using the Integra system as necessary.
