Job summary
Wye Valley Trust are looking for a Specialty Doctor in Rheumatology for 12months. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Physician to work along with Consultant colleagues to further develop specialty outpatient services as part of the multidisciplinary team in a friendly and driven medical community.
This is an exciting time for the Trust who have just invested in a significant increase in our medical consultant workforce across medicine and ED along with construction of new modern wards on our County Hospital site.
Our friendly, welcoming and driven Rheumatology team boasts a diverse workforce consisting of four substantive Consultants, two Associate Specialist, a Specialty Registrar, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and a Secretarial Team. Main duties of the job
This post will cover a number of general Rheumatology clinics with the option to develop specialist clinics in the individual's area of interest. We welcome applicants who can bring new skills and areas of expertise to our expanding department.
The job plan will initially be offered as 10 PAs although there may be opportunities to increase the number of PAs by discussion and mutual agreement
Clinics can be a mix of subspecialty and general clinics. Usual mix would be 1 subspecialty clinic per week with the rest general clinics. There are specific clinics running for ankylosing spondylitis, ultrasound, transition and osteoporosis currently. There are also dedicated slots available for cyclophosphamide patients.
