Job summary

Healthcare Support Worker on Macmillan Renton Cancer Unit - 30hrs per week, permanent position.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a dedicated team providing cancer care at Hereford County Hospital. As a Healthcare Support Worker in the Macmillan Renton Cancer Unit you will assist clinical teams to provide care and support patients through their cancer journeys.

Main duties of the job

To support the activities of the Macmillan Renton Unit (MRU) in the provision of cancer care, e.g. outpatient breast clinic.

To work under the direct/indirect supervision of and in support of the Consultant, registered nurse and or the registered Allied Health Professional carrying out delegated nursing and non-nursing duties to promote patient centred care.

To ensure that all duties required to assist the clinician performing the clinic are completed in a timely manner to ensure the best patients experience possible. To be mindful at all times of the impact on patients of own actions.

  • NVQ Level II / III and / or Diploma in Health & Social Care 2 / 3

  • Demonstrate knowledge of roles and responsibility within a clinical setting
