Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Dysphagia)

Job summary

To provide highly specialist clinical input and clinical leadership to adult clients with oro-pharyngeal dysphagia, across acute and community settings.

Main duties of the job

  • To co-ordinate roles, responsibilities and personal development of staff working with adult clients with dysphagia, liaising with the Head of Profession and others as required
  • To empower the adult SALT team to develop & maintain the best possible dysphagia services to adults across inpatient and community settings
  • To ensure, encourage & demonstrate best practice in the management of adults with dysphagia and to work closely with carers, relatives, support workers, hospital staff and other professionals including paediatric SLTs working in dysphagia
  • To take a clinical caseload in inpatient and/or community settings as required by the SALT service.
