Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity within Education to a WVT Physicians Associate. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join us in delivering education in your area of expertise across the Trust: to medical students, doctors, nurses, physician associate students, physician associates and all other allied health professionals who may benefit. We look forward to seeing you deliver your educational objectives in innovative ways such as clinical skills, simulation and classroom-based teaching.
The post is designed to be shared with your current clinical role, and as such you would need agreement from your manager for you to be released for secondment. We can be flexible in the way and time you deliver your educational commitment, but would anticipate that you would spend 50% of your time in Education, and that the time would be within the hours of Monday to Friday 9-5pm.
The Academy has a large number of Education Fellows, who have traditionally been junior doctors, but we recognise the benefit of non-medical teachers both to students and yourself: we are happy to support you financially to undertake a PGCME or other educational courses to develop yourself as an educator.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop the Physician Associate (PA) Clinical Education Fellow (CEF) role to improve knowledge relating to their specialist interest across the organisation. The post-holder will be required to independently prepare, organise, facilitate, and deliver teaching sessions for Foundation Year trainees, undergraduates, and other healthcare professionals.
