You'll act as a key technical lead, ensuring effective integration with hospital and regional systems, supporting clinical users, and contributing to the delivery of safe, accurate, and timely pathology services. Main duties of the job
The Pathology IT Technical Specialist is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and associated pathology IT systems across the Trust. The role ensures the continuous and reliable integration of laboratory systems with hospital and regional IT infrastructure to support the delivery of safe, accurate, and timely pathology services.
Acting as a lead technical specialist within Pathology IT, the post holder will support the day-to-day operation of pathology systems, manage external interfaces with partner organisations, and ensure systems are secure, reliable, and fit for purpose. This includes technical troubleshooting, integration management, user administration, and first-line support to pathology system users.
The role will support the ongoing maintenance of the LIMS and contribute to its building and configuration to meet the evolving needs of the laboratories. This includes working closely with laboratory staff to understand workflow requirements and ensure the system is optimally configured to support efficient and high-quality service delivery.
