We have an exciting opportunity for you!We are seeking an experienced and motivated pharmacist to work in the Cancer and Aseptic Pharmacy team within RWT.The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is a cancer Centre providing a comprehensive cancer service to the population of Wolverhampton and other surrounding areas.The Trust strives to innovate and improve patient care. Due to significant investment, the pharmacy aseptic team will be moving into our new state-of-the-art pharmacy aseptic, clinical trials, and radiopharmacy facility later this year.The Cancer and aseptic pharmacy team works closely with the Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Palliative Care Directorates to manage patients with cancer and this post offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a high quality service to our patients receiving treatment for cancer.The successful candidate will have experience of working within Aseptic and Cancer services. An independent prescribing qualification is desirable.Appointment as a Band 7 with progression to band 8a may be considered if all band 8a criteria are not met.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the delivery, development, evaluation, and co-ordination of the clinical pharmacy service for cancer and aseptic services ensuring it is in line with the objectives of the clinical director, division and the RWT pharmacy strategy

Support the Principal Pharmacist for Cancer Services in the delivery of a comprehensive specialist clinical pharmacy service to the Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Specialist Palliative Care Directorate

To provide an expert level of clinical pharmacy services to wards and departments caring for patients who present to the Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Specialist Palliative Care Directorate

  • Ability to understand the importance of interactions with the directorates and with directorate managers with respect to medicines budget management
  • Ability to work in an aseptic environment
  • Commitment to, and evidence of, formal continuous professional development (CPD).
