Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and reliable person with a good general level of education to join the Clerical Support Team in the Radiology Department at New Cross Hospital as a Clinical Tracking Officer.
The main priorities of the role will involve ensuring that radiology requests are vetted and assigned for reporting in line with local protocols and national guidance.
The role will be primarily office based, and the successful candidate should have a thorough working knowledge of windows computer based systems. Training will be provided on the trusts RIS system.
The successful candidate will have line management responsibilities for band 2 colleagues within the team, including sickness reporting and appraisals.
Main duties of the job
To improve/maintain the efficiency of the reporting system in Radiology.
To be responsible for the management of outsourcing reports to relevant internal and external service providers including radiologists, registrars and 4 ways, and other private outsourcing companies as required. The post holder will be responsible for identifying the appropriate referrals to be sent, communicating the request to the service provider and ensuring that the required information is delivered (electronically) in a timely and confidential manner.
To follow up the progress of reports to ensure that they are ready for clinics and Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings. This may involve tracking and chasing the report with the assignee.
