It is anticipated that an average of 10 - 12 patients would be seen by the post holder per clinic these would be a mixture of new and review cases. The post holder will take part in the cardiology ward cover and 1:17 weeks will spend a week based on the ward and on-call for ward patients. There are 43 beds on the cardiology ward.

The ward on-call and the emergency PCI on-call rotas have been separated out and weekend ward rounds are undertaken by the non-PCI consultants to enable the PCI consultant to focus on PCI. You will be on-call for PCI the weekend after your ward week and will remain on-call for the ward during this weekend, the non-PCI consultant will feed back to you following his/her ward round. The on-call elements of this post will be discussed after appointment and reflected in the agreed job plan with the individual. In line with the Royal College of Physician's guidance discussions will include the option of time off in lieu or additional duties being paid.
