Job summary
To work as part of Transport and Warehouse team within Estates and Facilities.
To undertake safely and as directed by the Transport and Warehouse Supervisor, daily designated tasks within the warehouse. Post holders, as members of the Transport and Warehouse Department you will be required to adopt a flexible approach towards any logistics activities undertaken. Posts contain a range of duties normally undertaken within procedural guidelines and daily work schedules.
Post holders are expected to respond to the need for flexibility in covering incidences of sickness and annual leave and will comply with job rotation policy.
There may be part and full time opportunities.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the receipt/storage/issue of all items into and out of the Bentley Bridge Distribution Centre.
To advise the Transport and Warehouse Supervisor of any faulty or incorrect deliveries and support any remedial action required to ensure that stock availability is not compromised.
To process all associated documentation, carrying out clerical work, filing duties and computer terminal data entry using appropriate computer systems as necessary.
Replenish and restock the shelving/racking in the relevant locations and return all roll cages for collection
Required to undertake manual handling tasks manually or using appropriate equipment i.e., sack trucks, trolleys, manual and electric pallet trucks
Required to undertake any training as deemed necessary for the fulfilment of the duties of this post including My Academy Modules
To assist with the undertaking of Monthly stock takes by the department, ensuring that any discrepancies are reported to the Transport and Warehouse Supervisor for appropriate escalation.
Other tasks, commensurate with the grade of the post, will be allocated over the duration of the contract of employment dependent upon the needs of the service and the development of the post holder
