Job summary
The post of Clinical Fellow in Diagnostic Radiology is aimed at further developing skills of a committed radiologist in general radiology including emergency radiology and will be at the level of a 5th year radiology registrar. Specific supervised training can be supported in gastrointestinal , genitourinary and musculoskeletal imaging facilitated by attendance at the relevant clinic-radiology meetings. The candidate will be committed to team working and work along with the existing cohort of 18 radiologists reflecting the dynamic nature of radiology services in this busy Trust with highly regarded cancer services. Exemplary English language and communication skills are part of the essential requirements and will be assessed during the interview. FRCR or equivalent is desirable. The post is initially approved for 12 months with a possibility of extension.
Main duties of the job
The post offers an opportunity for general and specialist cross-sectional imaging. A wide variety of specialist interests can be accommodated that include but not limited to cardiac/respiratory, head and Neck, Paediatrics, GI/GU, neuro and MSK. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic and friendly team striving to provide high quality diagnostic imaging in a modern, well equipped department of this rapidly expanding Acute Trust with large Orthopaedic, Trauma, Acute Medicine, Paediatric, Respiratory, Head and Neck, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Oncology Departments. A recent and successful innovation is the vertical integration of GP services within the acute hospital setting and this provides numerous opportunities to improve patient pathways in the local health care environment.
