Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established group of 24 substantive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and 2 Spinal Neurosurgeons at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. The candidate will also be expected to provide support in complex lower limb trauma as per departmental need.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with FRCS (Tr & Orth) / or equivalent qualification who are on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery or who will be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT/CESR at the time of interview.
Main duties of the job
We are a very successful department, with twin site working at New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital (Trauma and elective sites).An additional Trauma fellowship/Knee Revision fellowship and post fellowship consultant experience is desirable.
The post is for a Consultant Lower Limb Surgeon with specialist interest in Soft Tissue Knees and Knee Arthroplasty. The candidate must have a Soft Tissue Knee and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship to add to the existing complement of consultants.
The current on-call rota is 1:10 rota, with a 7- day working commitment.

- Primary care - Ten GP practices have now joined us and offer extended opening hours to patients.
