Job summary

Are you a registered Adult nurse with a desire to try something new? Do you have what it takes to turn your hand to Children's nursing? Do you want to work within a well-established, acute Paediatric team who are dynamic and forward thinking?

Here in Wolverhampton, for the first time ever we are offering adult nurses an opportunity to come and work on Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU). We provide services for children and young people with a wide variety of general and specialised medical and surgical conditions which all provide fantastic learning opportunities.

We will provide a comprehensive training and development package which will include undertaking a fundamentals of children's nursing course delivered by GOSH and eventually culminating in support to undertake a conversion course to register as a Children's nurse with the NMC.

We provide a holistic suite of services for babies, children and young people to enable them to receive the highest quality of care at the right time, delivered by the right staff and in the location where best suits their needs, in partnership with parents, carers and other multi-disciplinary team members.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to expand our committed and compassionate team to enable us to continue to develop the exceptional service that we provide, and to work towards having independent ward, surgery, outpatient and PAU (including Same Day Emergency Care) facilities due to growing demand and our ambition to always improve the services that we provide. Successful candidates will join our friendly, supportive teams led by Supervisory Senior Sisters / Service Managers / Team Leaders and be part of a nursing skill mix reflective of the acuity of the patient group.

We offer a very supportive and welcoming team and will ensure you receive all the training on induction to enable you to carry out the role safely ensuring excellent standards of care.
