Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and proactive Public Health Associate to join the 0-19 Service in the Wolverhampton Special School Nurse Team.
The 0-19 Service offers a welcoming and supportive working environment with full training and induction to enable you to carry out the role safely and effectively.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of 0-19 Service delivering a high-quality service for children and their families. As a member of the 0-19 Service the Band 4 Public Health Associate will be responsible for supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in designated schools across the city in particular arranging, attending and following up medical sessions in schools. The post holder will be competent to undertake and record designated observations and clinical procedures for example blood pressure monitoring, phlebotomy, heights and weights and take on Public Health tasks within this service provision. The aim is to achieve equity of health outcomes for the local population through the provision of evidence based and needs led service. Under the supervision of the School Nurse, the post holder will also participate in developing programmes and packages of public health care and auditing enabling feedback and progression for the service. This will be offered within the framework of national and local targets and priorities to deliver improved outcomes for the children of Wolverhampton.The Post holder will also work with and in conjunction with a range of partnership services/agencies for example Education, Consultant Paediatricians, GP's, Medical Secretaries, Child Health Records etc.
