Practice Education Facilitator for Education Quality

Are you a registered nurse experienced with technology, passionate about educating our workforce who is looking for their next development opportunity wanting a unique challenge.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate interested in the development of digital learning and education.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and resourceful registered nurse to support, develop and contribute to the digital learning agenda for non medical healthcare professionals.

The successful appointee will also be given the opportunity to support and teach on existing education programmes across RWT and WHT as part of the nurse education team supporting learners and offering clinical support as needed.

Informal visits/discussion regarding this exciting role are strongly advised.

Main duties of the job

To support curriculum development and quality assurance of continuing professional development, in particular for online learning, for assessment of training needs and subsequent development and delivery of online.

Support the delivery of face to face training programmes including Induction programmes, Care Certificate, AIM and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for non-medical staff.

To be accountable for :

Operationalising the development of online CPD

Support the quality of education in a digital and virtual learning environment.

Ensuring safe and effective clinical practice.

Enhance the patient's experience through care and education

Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation's objectives.

Job responsibilities

To work within an educational environment as a core member of the Nurse Education Team.

To co-write specialist online curriculum with subject matter experts being resourceful on their behalf.

Supporting and reinforcing the values and standards of compassion and respect in care, demonstrating analysis and decision-making skills, delivering educational sessions to qualified nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, providing a clinically and educationally excellent, high quality service which will influence and facilitate change within the organisation.

To support the quality of education initiatives and promote quality assurance processes.

To work with other departments within the Trust to facilitate learning to support service developments and to support staff in practice who are subject to capability/competence processes.

Demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge, skill and understanding of education practice standards.

Support staff with specialist advice in relation to practice education.

Work alongside clinical staff, promoting best practice, providing support and education, facilitating a learning environment and development of staff to meet local requirements.

Deliver clinical education presentations to large and small groups. Contribute to the design and the delivery of informal and formal teaching programmes.

When delivering training sessions and supporting staff clinically, promote that all staff are aware of and adhere to all relevant Trust policies and procedures as part of educational activity,

Participate in supporting a culture of protecting patients from harm and deprivation of basic rights ensuring a safe and effective service with continuous quality improvement.

Contributes to managing changes and improvement through the use of audit, staff/student feedback and reflection on practice by self and other members of the team.

Promote a clean and safe environment by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including health and safety, healthcare associated infection prevention, clinical governance, including risk management and critical incident reporting and root cause analysis.

Participate in the promotion of a high standard of fundamental care and record keeping in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council, Health Professions Council, national legislation and local standards.

To support staff development when standards fall below expected levels.

Report incidents and near misses promptly and appropriately

Critically appraise and synthesise the outcomes of relevant research, evaluations and audits and apply information when seeking to improve practice.
