The Post holder will have FRCR and GMC registration. CCT for the post (or within 6 months of anticipated receipt of a CCT at the time of interview) or its equivalent (CESR)
Main duties of the job
It is envisaged that the appointee will be committed to team working and provide a high quality service along with the existing cohort of 26 consultant radiologists reflecting the dynamic nature of radiology services in this busy Trust with highly regarded cancer services. Other cross-sectional diagnostic interests can be supported and will be encouraged.

The Radiology Department at New Cross Hospital is housed in a modern, purpose built PFI facility which provides individual office accommodation with dedicated reporting workstations We have had an independent IR(ME)R review in radiology in 2019 which showed us in an exceptional light. We are a 700 bed Teaching Hospital with a supra-regional heart and lung centre and we are a highly regarded training department for specialist trainees on the West Midlands Radiology Scheme (currently with 12 specialist trainees and 5 clinical fellows. Midlands.
Cannock Hospital supports a 1.5T Philips Ingenia MRI scanner, CR/DR along with ultrasound suites.

New Cross Hospital is a 700 bed Teaching Hospital with a supra-regional heart and lung centre. We are a tertiary referral centre for oncology and provide diagnostic imaging for all cancer subspecialties and are looking to provide an increasing range of interventional services for cancer patients. The closely knit consultant body underpins a supportive relationship between clinical specialities and Clinical Radiology allowing us to develop responsive imaging services. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre to cater to the increasing need of the local population for emergency services is already functioning on the main New Cross Hospital site. Cannock Hospital is now incorporated into the organisation and provides elective services in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. Radiology services at Cannock Hospital may form part of the job specification and details can be discussed at the pre-interview visits.The post holder will have the option of sharing in the general cross-sectional work of the department including the out of hours work, if they want to maintain other diagnostic interests.
