We are seeking applications for Consultant posts in Neurology. You will join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of 8 consultants in the Neurology Directorate, based at the New Cross Hospital. The Neurology Directorate forms part of the Regional Neurological and Neurophysiological service which provides comprehensive support for both the Trust and a number of neighbouring hospitals.

Main duties of the job

We provide general Neurology clinics at New Cross Hospital, Cannock Hospital, West Park Hospital and across Shropshire. Botulinum Toxin clinic and a joint Movement Disorder clinic run by a Consultant Neurologist and an Elderly Care Physician and well-established Epilepsy, MS and Parkinson Services. All Neurology Consultants at New Cross Hospital hold honorary contracts with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for specialty clinics and audit/research. The Neurology Department also provides daily in-reach to inpatients on the New Cross Hospital site, but also the Royal Shrewsbury and Princess Royal Hospitals in Shropshire as part of a service level agreement. The Clinical Neurophysiology Department is part of the Neurology Directorate.

  • CCT
  • Full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC
  • MRCP or equivalent

Desirable

  • Higher Medical Degree
